History of the School
Merryhills is a community, 3 form entry, primary school located in the pleasant green belt area of Enfield. We are very fortunate in having a spacious site where playing fields, playground areas, a Forest School and a conservation area surround our main building.
The school opened in 1940 and has provided education for local families ever since. The building has been extended and modernised to meet the demands of an increasing school population and a changing curriculum.
In 2020, Merryhills celebrated 80 years. We had planned a large party, inviting members from the past to visit, however, due to covid our plans went digital. The children learnt about music and fashion through the decades and explored pictures from the past as well as listened to first hand experiences from previous pupils. We are very proud of our beautiful school both then and now.
